How to Put on Dance Makeup

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Here is an easy way to put on dance makeup that doesn't look sloppy or outlandish (e.g. neon blue lipstick, etc.). The look is called Stage Siren by JAM Cosmetics, in case you were wondering.

Steps

  1. Apply a liquid base over your entire face, making sure that you blend it into your neck. After you're finished, set it with a powder base that matches the liquid, leaving extra loose powder just above the cheeks.
  2. Highlight the brow bone with a white eyeshadow, then apply golden shadow to the crease. For the lid, use a dark, dark shadow, gradually blending it into the gold at the crease.
  3. Line the top and bottom eyelids with a waterproof liquid black eyeliner. You may apply false lashes now, but if you use two coats of fairly good-quality waterproof mascara, they are not really necessary. Apply a dark shadow just under the lower black liner, and then use a white highlighter pencil to line the corners and inside the lower lash line.
  4. Apply a soft-colored, rosy blush along the cheekbones and hairline, preferably with a soft blush/base brush.
  5. Line your top and bottom lips, with dark red lipliner, then fill them in with a lipstick color that goes well with your skin tone. Apply a layer of clear lip gloss over the color, and your look is complete!

Tips

  • This looks very nice with a ponytail or a bun.
  • You may want to fill in your eyebrows with an eyeshadow that matches your haircolor, especially if you have dark hair and lighter eyebrows. If you are brunette or have black hair, you always look better on stage with darker eyebrows.
  • Don't overdo the blush or eyeliner, but you can go crazy with everything else (yes, even far-out false lashes).
  • If you are under twenty, I would suggest that you go for a softer lipstick color than fierce red.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid and powder base that matches your skin tone
  • White, golden, and dark eyeshadow.
  • Waterproof liquid black liner and waterproof mascara (or false lashes, if that's your thing.)
  • White highlighter pencil
  • Rosy blush that looks good with your skin tone
  • Dark red lipliner
  • Red lipstick
  • Clear gloss
