How to Preserve the Scent of Your Perfume

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Does your perfume seem to fade after you put it on?

Steps

  1. Have a shower and dry yourself thoroughly first.
  2. Get dressed, do hair and finish.
  3. Rub in some unscented moisturiser or oil (such as jojoba or almond oil) where you are going to spray your perfume.
  4. Apply your perfume on top of your moisturizer.
  5. If this is ineffective, you may wish to apply more perfume the next time.
  6. If this is ineffective, you may wish to spray some on your clothes; be warned that it can be hard to get the smell of perfume out of clothes. Some perfumes may stain clothes.
  7. Some perfumes fade quickly no matter what. If you are still unhappy with yours, you may wish to try out a new perfume.
  8. For Spray: If your spray is light use vaseline ( but put it behind ears or somwhere not so visble - you don't want to look greasy!) and let vasaline set for a bit then use spray! It reallys works!

Tips

  • Don't use too much moisturizer - just enough to absorb into your skin.
  • Wear perfumes for a day or two before you consider buying them to check the lasting power.
  • Note that eau de parfum versions are stronger and longer-lasting than eau de toilette versions of the same fragrance.
  • Apply perfume to neck, wrists and just under your ears. These are pulse spots which generate more heat and give off more scent.*
  • Alternatively, try carrying it around with you and just respray it every time it starts to lose scent.
  • You will grow accustomed to your perfume as the day goes by. Others may find that you smell too strong yet you think your perfume has faded.

Warnings

  • Make sure you aren't allergic. If a rash occurs, avoid using that brand of perfume or moisturizer!
