How to Apply Powder Blush

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

There are a lot of instructions out there on "contouring" but you won't find any here. Contouring looks completely fake and has no place in real life. So instead of trying to color-on new cheekbones for yourself, use blush to make the most of what you already have.

Steps

  1. Start your blush 2 fingers away from your nose and above the hollows of your cheeks.
  2. Lightly coat your blush brush evenly with color, tap off any excess, and then sweep the brush over the apples of your cheeks. Look into the mirror and give yourself an exaggerated smile. The area that pillows up is what your aiming for.
  3. Work the brush back toward your hairline, blending with both upward and downward strokes until you see no visible edge between blush and skin.

Tips

  • To boost blush's staying power, or give a little more depth to your cheek color, try dusting a bit of powder blush over a cream blush base.
  • Brushing a little blush on different areas: lids, brow bone, nose, chin, and forehead is a quick way to add a little radiance to the face.
  • Matching lipstick to blush creates a more pulled together and prettier appearance.
  • Invest in a quality blush brush.
